1. Helmets and Head Protection

  • Proper Fit: Always ensure your aerodynamic helmet is adjusted to fit snugly and sits level on your head, not tilted back.

  • Impact Replacement: Helmets are designed to absorb energy through partial destruction; always replace your helmet immediately after any significant impact, even if no damage is visible.

  • Certification: Our helmets are manufactured to meet or exceed rigorous safety standards for bicycle use.

2. Technical Apparel and Footwear

  • Cleat Security: Periodically check that the bolts on your 3-bolt road cleats are tightened to prevent accidental detachment while riding.

  • Visibility: While our performance jerseys and gear often feature high-contrast designs, we recommend using active lighting (front and rear lamps) for all dawn, dusk, or night rides.

  • Fitment: Ensure long-sleeve jerseys and cuffs do not interfere with your ability to operate brake levers or shifters.

3. Hardware and Accessories

  • Installation: Accessories such as TIG-welded aluminum racks and kickstands must be installed securely to the bicycle frame.

  • Weight Limits: Never exceed the maximum load capacity specified for heavy-duty rear racks, as overloading can affect bicycle handling and cause structural failure.

  • Fastener Check: Vibration from American roads and trails can loosen bolts over time; inspect all attachment points on cargo accessories before every ride.

4. Optical Safety

  • Secure Fit: Ensure your panoramic sunglasses or HD eyewear fit securely to prevent them from slipping and obstructing your vision during sudden movements.

  • Lens Care: Keep lenses clean to maintain maximum clarity; scratched or dirty lenses can significantly impair your ability to see road hazards.

5. General Riding Safety

  • Pre-Ride Inspection: Before every journey, perform a "safety check" on your tires, brakes, and any Rydexion equipment you have installed.
